Honk! The Point Eastliegh October 2009 |

Karen Robson - Southern Daily Echo "Hans Christian Andersen's tale of the ugly duckling is given a lively and entertaining overhaul as the musical Honk!, made very contemporary with its message of inclusiveness and accepting differences. FYT's exuberant and intentive production showcased the talents of its cast and the charms of the show. The performers gave their all and there were some beautifully observed performances, if some of the regional accent were slightly awry. Andrew Morgan (Ugly) perfectly encapsulated the gawky awkwardness of adolescence, especially of the one who was different, and interacted beautifully with Sophie Jounet who was touching as his mother Ida. George Lambourne (Bullfrog), possibly channelling a namesake George Burns, leapt away with his part of the show. The staging and choreography of the big set pieces was clever and witty and great use was made of lighting and effects. This was a swan, not an ugly duckling, of a show." |
